Busiest day ever: PostNL processes over 2.8 million parcels

Growing number of people choose for delivery via Parcel Lockers

The Hague, 28 November 2024 – Black Friday is still a day away, but PostNL has already experienced its busiest day ever. Last Monday, PostNL processed over 2.8 million parcels - a record number. The entire sector is bracing for unprecedented peak volumes for the remainder of the week.

The entire industry - from webshops to delivery services - is operating at full capacity to ensure timely delivery of all orders. Thanks to strong collaboration across the sector, the peak demand is being effectively managed.

Consumers are choosing smarter

To date, 2.5 million Dutch customers have set their delivery preferences using the PostNL app. This increase in customised delivery preferences is playing a key role in managing the holiday rush efficiently. Deliveries to parcel lockers show an exponential growth, with a 150% increase compared to last year. More and more people are choosing this convenient and flexible solution, which allows them to receive parcels at the time and place of their choice.
