PostNL opts again for moderate rise in stamp prices

The Hague - Today, the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) made its annual announcement on how much scope PostNL will have to raise its rates for postal products, including stamps, within its universal service obligation (USO). Drawing on applicable laws and regulations, the ACM has decided to give PostNL a rate scope which is 16.4% above the 2019 scope given last year. PostNL continues its long time policy of moderately rising postal rates.

Consistent policy continued

Later this year, PostNL will announce how much it intends to charge in 2020 for its postal services within its USO, including the prices of stamps. In any event, PostNL will keep increases well below the allotted 16.4%. For 2019, ACM had given a scope of 14.2% and PostNL chose to raise prices by 4.8%. This is a continuation of PostNL’s careful and consistent approach over the years to introduce only moderate price increases so as to limit their impact on postal volumes.
