Agreement on new PostNL pension scheme

The Hague, the Netherlands, 27 June 2024 – PostNL and trade unions FNV, CNV and BVPP today signed an agreement on a new pension scheme for PostNL. A solid majority of the unions’ memberships agreed to the new scheme, which will come into effect on 1 January 2026.

Earlier in the year, PostNL had signed an agreement in principle on this issue with the trade unions. The new scheme was prompted by last year’s adoption of the Netherlands’ Future Pensions Act, which imposes new rules for pensions. The new scheme will apply to those employees covered by PostNL’s collective labour agreement (CLA) as well as its senior management, and should help pensions to better move in line with the economy, for instance when prices are rising.

Going forward, PostNL’s pension fund (Pensioenfonds PostNL) will incorporate all the agreements as set out in the transition plan and will ensure that the new scheme takes effect on 1 January 2026.
